A beautiful photographic album and an easily readable account of the history of the town Kyrenia and the living memory of its people forcefully uprooted in 1974 by the military Turkish invasion, an act of aggression that displaced about 40% of the island’s population along ethnic background lines, splitting the island into two, a situation that continues to this day.

Enriched with a wealth of archival photographic material, “it aims to record and share the testimonies of the town’s true history, its traditions, culture, and people: the images and stories of the Kyrenians’ love for their hometown, and their strong sense of belonging to a place that will always be their home.” It is not just about memories.
